1:18 pm - I Live!!!!
I am alive! Really, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth (yet). Working fulltime and going to school fulltime is really very hard and exhausting. Oh well, I'm going to take a week in November and go on a vacation. That'll help. ^^

Anyway, in what spare time I have I've been busy writing fics for people and watching Kyou Kara Maou. I love that series. ^^ It's just adorable. I especially love the Wolfram/Yuri pairing. If anyone knows of any good doujinshi or fanfictions feel free to pass them along. I'd be very happy. ^^

Speaking of asking for stuff to be passed along, does anyone know where I can find either translations or scanlations for the manga Gestalt? It's done by Yuun Kouga (manga-ka for Loveless). There's an anime out for it which I have, and I've found a place to get the manga. I bought the first volume, and haven't found translations for it. I would attmept translating it myself, but one I'm lazy :p and two I really don't have the time. T_T I loved the anime and from the little bit I got of the manga, it seems to be much better. Any help in finding translations would be greatly apreciated. ^^

2:13 pm - Lots of things
Ugh, I'm horrible about updating this thing. xp Ah well, I have a good excuse this time. I put in almost 40 hours worth of over time at work in the past two weeks. @_@ First one of our neighboring stores burned so we had to pick up their over flow, then one of our managers quit (ie. he just stopped showing up.). Thus, I had to put in extra hours the first week to help with the extra business, then I had to put in extra hours to cover the other manager's shifts. It sucked. The money is good, but I wouldn't do that all the time. It's really not worth it. Needless to say, I have several stories to tell. ^^ Some are funny, some are just things people did to piss me off. And, I'll apologize here for the long post and any bad spelling. I have to go to work and don't have time to spell check. ^^;

First, if you have kids please, please do not let them order for you unless they are of an age where they understand the concept of ordering food (ie. 4th grade on up). It is really difficult and not cute. Infact it often causes more problems for us than you think, and it's just plain annoying.

Anyway, one thing I have found funny latley is the lack of people reading our menues. It's amazing how many people don't read the menue signs. People are allways trying to order steak toaster sandwiches and brwon bag specials. If you were to take a moment to look at the menue you'd see that we no longer have these items. It's also amusing to see someone order a number one made number one style. What makes that funny is the new people we have don't know what a number one style burger is. If you were to ask for a number one style burger they'd get really confused. It's fun to watch. It bugs that people don't take the time to look at the menue and see that they are now called a mayonase and mustard burger instead of the number one and number two, but watching new employees panic over trying to figure out what the customer is asking for is really fun. xp It's also amusing to watch people drive away because we don't have the regular chilli cheese coney anymore. Our stores don't carry them anymore. You can try going to a different location, but they won't have them either.

One thing that was interesting durring the week the other store was down was their customers. It was amusing to get the other stores customers and listen to them say things like, 'this store is much friendlier.' or ' your service is much better.' Those things make me happy. They also make the crew happy because then they are better than the other store (the store that burned is our rival store). Though, it did bug with some of their special requests. We don't really serve just cups of ice cream. We have ice cream dishes. If you wanted a small cup full of ice cream, we'd have to charge you for a blast. When you buy a blast you are basically just paying for the ice cream. That's why they cost more than a shake. There's more ice cream in a blast than there is in a shake. Anyway, apparantly the other store would sell them a small cup full of ice cream at the price of a shake. I suppose if the manager is okay with that then it works, but you are not actually supposed to do that. We also got people who'd make all sorts of strange requests. Things like a Sunday with just a little bit of ice cream, lots of hot fudge, and lots of Resses Peanut Butter Cup pieces. Normally we don't do that kind of thing. It takes extra work, and we have to charge extra which makes people mad (it did make the people who ordered it mad). We also got a lot of requests for RT 44 size shakes, cream slushes, and blasts. There are several reasons I don't do those requests. One, the thing would cost over $7 and most customers aren't will to pay that. So, we end up with a RT 44 shake and nothing to do with it (employees won't eat it 'cause that's way to much ice cream). Two, it's really hard to properly mix that big of a cup in our mixers. The bottom part would not be mixed because the cup doesn't fit into the mixer and we can't mix the bottom part. Again, people complaine about that.

That's about it for the week of extra customers. After the other manager left, a very interesting thing happened. Our service and speed greatly improved... We also got less complaints. Makes you kinda wonder. Actually after he left, things got much better for the store. It sucks that the other managers had to put in extra hours, but we have a better store.

One last little work thing, I recently got a complaint about our tater tots. A lady called us and said that in 30 some years she's never had to complaine about anything. Okay, my thoughts at this point are along the lines of 'Oh great. Did someone get food poisoning? Or, did they forget to put chicken strips in the chicken dinners? Maybe they left the meat out of the burger...' I was coming up with all sorts of bad things. The lady continues and says that her tater tots were so salty that they were unedible. My thoughts '...that's it?' I thanked her for the info and was going to inform the cooks that there was too much salt on the tater tots when she continued saying, 'I don't know if you over salted my tater tots purpose, but' and continued on about how bad her tater tots tasted. Okay, we do not serve bad food to customers. Really, our store is very good about that. If it tastes bad it's an accident. This lady actually thought that we purposly made her food bad. None of us knew her and she wasn't rude to us or anything, so why would we single her out and make bad food for her to eat???? Honestly, our cooks don't even make food bad if you are rude to us or if they hate you. They just don't. There's too much going on to worry about weither or not they like you. The cooks were actually pretty mad that someone thought they were out to get her. They fumed over that one for awhile.

That's it for work stuff. I do have a few other things to comment about though. ^^

I've been buying J-pop from ebay and thought I'd share some of my thoughts. I recently picked up TM Revolution (I got it from suncoast not ebay), and decided I really like them. Aside from the fact that the case has pretty boys that dress up in dresses, it's a good group. I also picked up Yoko Ishida (another suncoast buy). She's good, but honestly I do prefer male singers. Her stuff is realaxing to listen to. Something I'll probably listen to while studying. From ebay I bought two Gackt cds, a Dir en Grey cd, and Malice Mizer. I love the Malice Mizer cd. Gackt was a little disapointing. There's alot of hype about him, but I liked him better when he sang for Malice Mizer. Dir en Grey is fun to listen to 'cause it's very much like listening to an american band.

2:47 pm - Eat, drink, and sleep
Alright, this time I do have some work stories. ^^ When you work where I do for a few weeks it takes over your life. You eat, sleep, and drink the place. For example, one of the guys woke up in the middle of the night, went to the refridgerator and yelled, "I need fries!" It took him a few moments to gain enough consciousness to realize what he was doing. Another example is one of the girls at work has turned of her alarm and said, "Welcome, what can I get for you?" The same girl's father asked her when she was going to get up, and her response was, "I need two more squirts of grape." I've answered the phone with, "Welcome, what can I get for you?" I hung up after I said that.

2:14 am - Summer Fun
Actually there isn't a whole lot of fun in this summer. Ah well. I don't really feel like talking about work too much today since one of our newer managers is on the top of my hit list, and I don't think anyone really cares to know why he iritates me. ^^ Nothing too funny has happened either. In fact the past few weeks have been rather agravating. Partly because of the health inspections (which our store passed with good scores) and workers who can't do anything except talk on their phones all night. -_- So, instead I'm going to talk about my manga collection. The reason I want to talk about this is 'cause I wonder how many people have ever took a good look at their collection and thought 'wheew. I've got ALOT of manga.' or if anyone has problems storing their collection. I recently counted the number of graphic novel volumes I have and the total is 376 with four more on their way in the mail. I don't think I ever really thought about the amount of manga I have before. It's too the point where when people ask me 'what manga do you have?' I usually reply with 'name the manga and I'll tell you if I have it.' Looking at what I have, I do have a little of just about everything. @_@

1:04 pm - Random stuff
I don't have too many interesting stories to relate, but some of it is amusing. First, is last night I was trying to mix a chocolate shake. I grabbed one of our cheap foam cups, put in the chocolate, then the shake mix, next the ice cream, and last put it in the blender. I turned the blender on and just as it started to mix the entire bottom of the cup blew off. The result was myself and the person next to me covered from waist down in shake mix, chocolate, and ice cream. Usually that only happens when we make blasts. The candies in blasts shoot through the bottom of the cups. Not that the bottoms of our cups are all that great. Our cups are all cheap styrofoam cups that if you drop one the first thing to break is the bottom.
This isn't something funny, but it's becoming a pet peeve of mine. I know people think its cute for their three or four year old son or daughter to place their order, but its not cute to the person taking the order. I understand that your child is going to be a brat and insist upon ordering, but that's what discipline is for. When mom or dad says 'no' it means no. It is really hard to take an order when the kid doesn't know what they are supposed to be ordering. Example:
Worker: "Welcome, what can I get for you today?"
:picture high pitched voice that's amplified by the speaker: "Can I get, can I get, a, ummm, an ice cream cone."
Worker: *steps back from speaker because of how loud the child is* "Okay, one ice cream cone. Anything else?"
Child: "Yeah."
Worker: "Alright, what else can I get for you?"
:someone in the back ground begins speaking, and says something like grilled chicken salad or sandwich, its too soft to really tell:
Child: "A grilled chicken."
Worker: "The salad or the sandwich?"
Child: "Uhh, the salad... ?"
Worker: "What kind of dressing would you like for the salad?"
Child: "No." :someone in the background is talking again: "Ranch."
Worker: "That's a grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing and an ice cream cone. Can I get you anything to drink?"
Child: "Yeah."
At about this point the parent realizes that this is taking forever, annoying the worker, and just taking up valuable time. Thus, said parent tries to put their kid in the back seat and finish the order themselves, but the kid won't have any of it and starts throwing a fit. It is even harder to take someone's order when there's a hight pitched wailing than it is to try getting a child to give you the right order.
On the subject of difficult customers, I had one a few nights ago that was the worst customer I've ever had to deal with. It was two guys who were trying to get free stuff. They had cupons for free drinks, but were neglecting to tell us that the cupons were for a free medium drink with the purchase of food. I told them we only had cupons for free drinks with the purchase of food. They said the coupon didn't say anything about food, so I told them I'd go out and take a look at the coupon. At that point the admitted to the coupon having to be used with food. So, they proceede to ask what our cheapest food items were. Everyone in the building rolled their eyes. They had a menue board infront of them and they have to ask us for our cheapest items... After they make me wait for them to figure out what food the want, the finaly order two small things of tater tots. Three minutes later they call back and ask why their order is taking so long. At this point everyone in the building wanted to go out there and shoot them. The one thing that annoys us more than anything else is customers calling us saying they placed an order a long time ago and they still haven't gotten it. They ALWAYS do this when our lot is full, and we really don't have the time to deal with them. There is almost always a good reason for us to take so long to get your food to you. The most common reasons are we had to cook fresh stuff for your order (ie. burger meat, fries, chicken, whatever). The second, most common reason is someone before you ordered a long complicated order that no matter how hard we try will not get out in under four minuets. The third most common reason is we are short handed and extremely busy.
Anyway, we finally get the food out to the two guys. I personally take it out, and the first thing they ask is, "Why did it take ten minutes for our order to get to us?" Their attitude and tone of voice made me want to slam their heads together. I informed them that the order did NOT take ten minutes to get to them. It took seven. I had proof too, but they ignored me. The next thing they did was looked in their bag and said, "Get me some more ranch." Refraining from hurting them, I walked back into the building, slammed my try on the table, grabbed some ranch, and handed it to someone else to take out. I couldn't trust myself not to open the packet and throw it at him saying, "Here, your ranch."
That's about all I have to say. Nothing too funny has happened recently, but it does feel good to type stuff about the stupid customers who think they are the only person we serve. Honestly, when we get people like that, suddenly every other customer becomes more important to us.

1:20 am - Why........
Why do people go to a fast food restaurant to hold a fight? We had two fights break out tonight, and I want to know what is so cool about going to the nearest fast food place to fight? Really people. What's worse is they don't stick around. If you have cause enough to send someone to the hospital, then you have every reason to tell the cops that come to investigate that you did it and are proud of it. Also, don't expect the employees of whatever fast food place you are at to just stand by and watch. Chances are they are looking for an excuse to hit something or someone. Trust me, so don't act to shocked if you see a group of employees coming at you with a set of spatulas or something.

And, I know I've mentioned this someplace before, but I'll say it again: DON'T complain about how long your order takes to get to you even though you only ordered one jr banana split. I understand that it only takes two minutes tops to make one. I've made enough of the things to know. The problem isn't the fact that we are slow at making those splits, the problem is fifty or so people before you have ordered at least one jr. banana split. In most cases the people before you have ordered more than one of the things, and that really slows us down. If you were the only person in the parking lot, and you only ordered that one jr. split, and it takes more than two minutes to get to you, then yes you have every right to complain. But, when the lot is FULL of people it's going to take us awhile.

2:33 pm - I finnaly decided to update. xp
Like I've said, I'm not very good at updating journals. xp Oh well, I do have a few stories and stuff to share though. One is have any of you ever worked with a good looking guy only to find out he's gay? If you have then you know how much that sucks. There's a guy I work with who's really good looking, but he's gay. Worse yet is we have the same taste in men.... which is just strange. And, since I'm talking about guys, what is with guys and asking their waitress for a phone number, asking them out, or straight up asking them to have sex with them?! Why the hell would I give my phone number and what not out to a guy that I just met at a fast food place?? Aside from the fact that none of these guys are remotely good looking, they are all several years younger than me. Most of them are barely legal if that. Anyway, moving on to the stupid things customers do; first, why do people complain about how small the jr. banana splits are? Really people you pa 99 cents ($1.06 with tax) for a banana split. How big do you think it's going to be? Also, we make on average 300 of those little things each day, thus it is going to take us forever to get yours out to you. Sure you only wanted one, but everyone else before you only wanted one as well. The things aren't that easy to make. Second, our store got a complaint about someone spilling a drink that they bought from us on their carpet. The bought a cherry limeade or something, brought it home, and spilled it on their carpet. The drink stained their carpet, and they had to get it cleaned, so they thought they'd ask our store to reimburse (sp?) them for the carpet cleaning cost. My question is why ask that? You are the one who spilled the drink. There's nothing we can do about that. It's not like one of our employees followed you home and made you spill the drink.

1:43 pm - Bored
Since I have nothing better to do, I'll make a random post thing. I don't have a whole lot to say, but I will tell a quick story from work. We had some guy come through our drive through and order a banana split. He drove up to the window to collect his split, and immediatly complained that the split was melted. Now, here's a little tid bit of info about our banana splits that people may not know. Banana splits consist of bananas, ice cream, strawberries, pineapple, hot fudge, whip cream, and a cherry. What happens when you put HOT fudge on ICE cream? The ice cream is going to melt due to the fact that the hot fudge temperature is 110 degrees F like it's supposed to be. After we explained this to our unhappy customer, he proceeded to request that we fix the problem and get him a new banana split. In accordance with the 'customer's always right' rule we took the split that he had, and remade it. Again, the ice cream was melted and again we explained that when hot fuge comes into contact with ice cream, the ice cream will melt. He drove off after that so either he understood what we were trying to tell him, he got frustrated and decided to let the subject drop, or he was trying to get free food and decided that it wasn't working. Oh, I do have a tid bit of info for anyone trying to annoy people serving you. Please, by all that you hold holy, do not hand us five dollars in pennies and nickles. If you have no other way of paying, please count it out to us rather than just handing us the handful of change.

1:39 pm - Uhh....how 'bout hello?
Hello to anyone who chooses to read this. This is my first time posting here (which should be obvious) and I'll warn everyone right now that I suck at journaling (and spelling). Like any other online journal I've tried to keep, this'll just end up as a place for me to share my stupid stories about people at work. A few people I know said I should refrain from stating where I work (I really don't know why) so you'll just have to guess (though that really shouldn't be too hard once you read some of my stories). Other than that I don't really have anything else to say. Today is my day off, so no stupid stories for anyone. xp (I told you all I suck at this).
